I am a mother of an active six year boy.  I've been fortunate over these years to be at home with him. The time has allowed me to reflect, think and decide what I want to do with the second half of my life. During this time, I came  up with a couple of ideas for products. One product in particular, my water-saving colander/bowl set, is what I’m most proud of. I have been granted a provisional patent and hope to find a company interested in bringing this eco-friendly product to market.

Originally from Garden City, New York, I have lived and worked in San Francisco, Paris, London and Washington DC. I hold an undergraduate degree from the College of Mt. St. Vincent and a graduate degree from New York University. I have also studied at the American University in Paris, Parsons School of Design – Paris, Institut de Langue Française and Sorbonne University – Paris III. It’s fair to say that during my early-to-mid twenties I thoroughly enjoyed the life of a student, especially in Paris.

In October 2000, back in the States and living in Washington D.C., I accepted a position at the National Geographic Channel. Two years later, half the staff at the Nat Geo program I was working on was laid off.  At the time, I was angry and frustrated at being laid off, but in hindsight, it has really worked out for the best.  I now teach English as a second language on a part-time basis while working on getting the colander/bowl set manufactured.

I have absolutely loved the research, writing, development, contacts – the list goes on – which my product has brought me. What a wonderful journey of discovery!

Thanks go to Chris, my husband, for his continued support and to Thomas, my son, who tells me he hopes to see my colander/bowl set in a store so he can buy it.
